About me

Experienced specialist support you can trust

I’m Suzy Sheppard, a specialist dyslexia assessor and experienced teacher with over 20 years’ experience supporting children and young people.

I qualified as a dyslexia assessor in 2019 and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia), alongside AMBDA and a current APC. I am fully insured and hold an up-to-date enhanced DBS.

My background includes a degree in psychology and a PGCE in KS2/3 English, along with many years of classroom experience. This allows me to understand both how children learn and how schools work.

I have worked with several secondary schools across Somerset and the Bristol area, supporting assessment work linked to exam access arrangements.

I aim to provide clear, supportive and practical guidance so that families feel confident in the next steps for their child.

I understand that seeking support can feel overwhelming, and I aim to make the process clear, supportive and reassuring for every family I work with.
